Health Services

Mental Health and Wellness Counselors

SCUSD's Health & Wellness Department is dedicated to both the mental and physical wellness of our students. To ensure access to free, appropriate public education, we provide mental health strategies to help our students learn skills to remove stress and cope with the ever-increasing competitive nature of learning.

Nurses

School nurses strengthen and facilitate the educational process by improving and protecting the health status of students and by identification and assistance in the removal or modification of health-related barriers to learning in individual students. The major focus of school health services is the prevention of illness and disability, and the early detection and correction of health problems. The school nurse is especially prepared and uniquely qualified in preventive health, health assessment and referral procedures.

Mission College Health Center

Mission Early College High School students have access to health services offered to students of Mission College including clinical services, health education, health promotion, and web-based services. Health promotion events, such as health fairs, are scheduled each semester.  Special topics are featured each semester through in-classroom presentations by guest presenters. All students are covered by an on-campus accident insurance.
